Budget calculator – how it can help you

Bringing you our new budget calculator

Here at Moneyline, we are always looking for new ways to help our customers. We have teamed up with Policy in Practice to bring you our new budget calculator.

In this blog we will explain what a budget calculator is, what it can do, and how it can help you.

What is a budget calculator?

A budget calculator is a page on our website where you can enter in some of your details to find out if there is anyway that you can boost your income. The budget calculator can let you know if there are any extra benefits that you can claim to boost your income (even if you are working) and give you handy budget tips to help save money too.

How do I use the budget calculator?

If you want to use our budget calculator simply visit our website and click on the budget calculator page. From there you just need to complete the form, filling in the details as accurately as you can. Once you have finished the form, the end page will let you know if you are missing out on any opportunities to boost your income.

Don’t worry if you get any of the details wrong, you can go back at any time and change the details that you have entered.

How will I know if I can boost my income?

Once you have got the end of the form, you will receive a breakdown of all the information you have entered. Our calculator will then list all the extra things that you could get to help you boost your income, including extra benefits, Healthy Start Vouchers, Free Prescriptions and the Warm Home Discount. The calculator can also tell you if there are any ways you can save money on your bills too.

What else can the budget calculator do?

The budget calculator can also create an action plan for you, to help you save money. You can set a target date for completing each of the tasks. The budget calculator can also help you find a basic bank account if you don’t already have one.

The budget calculator has said I can claim extra benefits, but how do I go about this?

It’s really easy to apply for the extra benefits that the calculator says you can get. All you need to do is click the apply button next to the benefit that you can claim. This will take you straight to the Gov website.

Is it free to use this budget calculator?

Yes! It’s completely free to use the budget calculator, and it is also free to make any claim for the benefit help you may get.
