How do I apply for a loan in Scotland?

Applying is simple:

  • Complete our online application
  • Send your bank statements securely
  • We review your information
  • We contact you with a decision

We’ll usually be in touch within 2 working days, Monday to Friday.

Do you only look at my credit score?

We look at more than just your credit score but we will look at your credit history to check you are currently making your credit repayments.

We check your income, your bills, and your bank statements to make sure the loan is affordable for you now and for the length of the loan.

We know that costs and benefits can be different in Scotland and we take this into account in your application.

Can I get a loan in Scotland if I receive benefits?

Yes. We understand people have different types of income.

We include Universal Credit and most benefits as income when we assess your application. We may ask if you have any deductions so we can make sure the loan is right for you.

Can I pay my loan back early?

Yes. You can pay back early at any time.

We calculate interest daily. This means you only pay interest for the time you have the loan. Paying early can reduce the total cost. There are no extra fees for paying early.

What happens if I miss a payment?

Please talk to us as soon as possible.

We understand that things can change. If you pay within 5 days of your missed payment, it won’t show as missed and you won’t be charged extra interest.

We’re here to help you get back on track.

What if I’m declined for a loan in Scotland?

Sometimes we can’t offer a loan. This may be because we feel the loan is not affordable for you right now. If that happens, you can apply again in the future if your circumstances change.

You will be able to access our MoneyToolkit which can provide local support to see if you could get more income, reduce your costs or be eligible for grants.
