We may not be able to go out and celebrate Valentine’s day like normal, but there are still plenty of ways you can celebrate the day with your special someone through Lockdown.
You may normally go to the shops and buy your Valentine a gift, but this year that may not be possible. Don’t worry though, there are plenty of websites that will have lots of great presents. Card Factory and Clintons already have a selection of Gifts on their websites with prices starting at £1.49.
If you don’t like shopping online, why not make your Valentine a present instead? A DIY present will show your Valentine how much you care, without it costing a fortune. There are lots of ideas from love heart biscuits to a date night jar that are very easy to do.
Normally for Valentine’s day, the pubs and restaurants have great offers on their menu’s so you can have a romantic night out, without spending a fortune. Unfortunately, this year things will be a little different, but there is no reason why it still can’t be as special. Check to see if your local pub or restaurants are offering a takeaway service instead. If not the supermarkets always have a special Valentine’s meal deal that is usually good value, like this one from Morrisons.
A romantic night in can be just as enjoyable as going for a date night out, and there are lots of things that can be done to make it special. Why not put the kids to bed early, close the curtains, light some candles and watch a film together curled up on the sofa, or make a relaxing hot bubble bath for your Valentine?
If you don’t live with your special someone, then lockdown restrictions can make celebrating Valentine’s day difficult. There are things you can do however to celebrate the day such as a virtual dinner date, which is quite simple and cheap to do. Before Valentine’s day, you both need to decide on what food and drink you are going to have and what time you are going to eat. Once its all arranged, make sure you remember what time your date is for!
However you decide to spend Valentine’s day, just remember to follow the current government guidelines to keep you safe.
